Turning your head down has got to be slightly less safe, much like wearing an open face helmet...

Why not buy a pair of mirror extensions, they lift your stock mirrors 1" upwards and 2" outwards.

Genuine H-D ones are expensive, part number 56000042, price is £65.02.

A far cheaper option is to buy on eBay, item number 292787531145 is the same as the H-D product but costs only £8.90. It's a no brainer which kit to choose.

Olza, I have a pair of mirror extensions if you would like them free of charge, I dont have the mounting hardware however. If you want them, just PM me your address.

However it might cost you near the price of the kit off eBay trying to source the fixings.

They look good, but I’ll be making a pair from “stuff” I have lying around. One collects a lot of bits when you’ve been in engineering 50 odd years!

Yes they'll fit underneath the bars, I did that with mine but the mirrors hung too low to be useful.

You could mount the extensions on the top and have the mirrors mounted upside down.

Well, I looked at the ebay mirror extensions with a general search and there are quite a few chrome sets available. (My levers and switch units are chrome.)
So have ordered a set, just under a tenner and free post.
Realised it’s not worth the hassle of making my own, especially as I’m in the middle of a garage and shed move around!

Thanks Leeds for the offer - I want to accept but agree the cost of the fixings and me doing return trips to B and Q as I have bought the wrong ones will in the end cost more...
