New Harley owner from Brighton, never thought I would have one!

Morning thanks for having me, had a bit of a mid life crisis and got back in the saddle after twenty years! I have purchased a 883 iron
    And I love it !
My only concern is that it has vance and Hines short shots pipes on it, and it is ear splitting loud, just trying not too annoy the neighbours to much, but don't want to change the look of the bike with different pipes, does anyone have 'quiet baffles ' fitted. Thanks for any advice....the newbie 20180928_171402.jpg

Those are Big Radius, and Im not sure you can get Q baffles for them ?? And they are loud. I went from Short Shots with Q baffles... too loud... to Cobra slip ons...just right. Vance and hines brackets are known for cracking too on those and short shots pipes, and if you dont like the noise, and have OE headers to go back on, sell them as someone will pay for those in a blink of an eye

I wouldn't worry what the neighbours think or scream at you, you wont be able to hear them - just give them a thumbs up!

Bike looks good, is that a standard rear tyre? Looks fatter than mine..

Do not waste your money on quiet baffles, whilst a lot of people profess they make a discernible difference they will only reduce your output by 4-6dB which equates to approximately 5-7% of output. Just be gentle when you roll the throttle in your neighbourhood vicinity would be my advice or consider swapping pipes out altogether? I have big radius on mine and my neighbours seem ok with them, I did approach them before they came to me stating my exhausts are loud but I would try to keep disruption down to a minimum.

Welcome to the forum from Calderdale in West Yorkshire.

The rear tyre looks like a stock H-D branded Michelin Scorcher, I don't rate the at all.

Avon Cobra's are far better tyres for grip.

People don't seem to minds a loud Harley but they really moan about the screamers. The Harley is low frequency and not so annoying. Well that my take anyway lol.

Avon motorcycle tyres are the only ones designed and manufactured in the UK, for British roads and British weather conditions. They come with white walls too. They have a grippy 10 mm deep tread.

Here's a Revzilla video about Avon Cobra tyres.
