    Hello Richard,

Welcome to the forum from Calderdale in West Yorkshire.

    I used to own Meriden Triumph's too, a 1977 TR7RV, a 1977 T160V (Hyde 850), a 1981 T140E and a 1983 TSX-4.

    Enjoy the Forum.

    Hello Richard,

    Welcome to the forum,

    I am new here too,

I also road a scooter, when I was 16 years old, a Lambretta LI 150 Series 1 which cost me £19, then on to a Lambretta TV 200 , I have seen them for sale for £14.000 now phew!, didn't have to wear helmets then, it was much more fun.

    geezer

    geezer

I sold my 1968 Lambretta LI 150 in 1978 for £7 (yes seven pounds).

It was the year before the release of Quadrophenia, the film which started the Mod revival, with hindsight I should have kept it a bit longer and I'd have got a lot more for it. At the time I was clearing out my garage of clutter, and the scooter was just taking up too much room.

LDB 150 1957 was my scooter (with two saddles); but passed my test in 1968 on a mate's LI 150 (come to think of it, was I insured at the time?). Had a TV 175 for a while but it was a sh*t-heap of a runner - it was one of the rounded ones.

Mrs Gettin'onabit helped run a hotel in the Isle of Wight in the late 60s early 70s - In Ryde, I think it was. She thought it was a great place to live (not the hotel, the IOW)

Just checked - it was in Shanklin.
