    Leeds 883 iron owner

Hi all from Leeds, West yorkshire, got a 2018 iron 883 in March this year. Already done quite a few mods.

Tank lift with wire tuck and coil relocation
    12 inch apes
    Mini fairing
    Chin spoiler
    Side mount number plate
    Sissy bar
    Lowered shocks
    Twin saddlebags
    Flush pop up fuel cap
    Blacked out upper forks

Also in the process of replacing all engine bolts etc with black stainless items with a kit I purchased from bluenose

The Iron's looking great Lloyd, I like the olive green colour

Welcome to the forum from Calderdale.

If you want to blacken out your fork caps and steering stem bolt, I bought these anodised aluminium Joker Machine knock offs on Aliexpress UK, they cost £15.38 including shipping.

Thanks, everyone says that about the colour. I can't see the link/pic that you posted. I'm viewing the forum via the tapatalk app maybe that is why. Are the fork caps covers or do they replaced the existing caps?

    Hi Lloyd,

The caps are replacements, mine didn't come with rubber 'O' rings so I swapped the stock 'O' rings.

    Can you see these images?

No I can't but I found them online. What's involved in fitting?

You need to get the front wheel off the ground to take the bikes weight off the fork springs. Carefully unscrew and remove the stock caps, swap over the 'O' rings and screw in the new caps. It's basically a straight forward swap.

The Steering stem bolt is easier to swap, just unscrew the top triple tree's steering pinch bolt, then unscrew and remove the stock steering stem bolt and the large black washer, I think the stem bolt takes a T55 torx bit. Screw the new bolt in and check the steering moses correctly from side to side, when your satisfied that the steering taper roller bearings are adjusted correctly, re-tighten the steering pinch bolt and you're all done.

Seems fairly straight forward, will add it to the never ending list of mods. Looking to do a rear air shock conversion at some point
