Welcome to the forum from Calderdale in West Yorkshire.

The Forty-Eight is a popular machine, but it only has a 1.8 imperial gallon fuel tank, it's range is only 85 to 90 miles depending on road conditions and riding style.

The Forty-Eight gets it's name from it's small fuel tank, it was first used on a 1948 Harley-Davidson 125cc 2-stroke.

All the XL Sportster models have the same frame, so the tank mounting points are the same too. You could fit a 2.8 or 3.75 imperial gallon tank for touring to get more mileage per tank full.

The only way Iíve found to see the pics in Tapatalk, is to touch the message, brings up an options box, choose webview, then sign in, the you can see the images in line. Iím sure itís not supposed to be that way, but it is on my iPhone.
