    Somerset newbie

    Hi All
I’m not a true HD owner but am the new owner of a custom bike with a late 70’s iron head engine in it.
I’ve always wanted a HD but this is as close as I can get at the mo.
I’ve mainly joined for info but do like to read about people’s projects and am happy to help any one if I can

It’s a 1954 BSA frame and 1979 engine as far as I know

Welcome fae the wilds of Fife. Nice custom. Whatever the frame, if it's harley engined, it's a harley (imho).
    FTW )

That’s very interesting, please keep us up to date on how it gets on. With the new MOT rules, you might not need a MOT for this motorcycle, just depends if your bike is over 40 years old and has not been substantially changed in the last 30 years. You’ll have to check. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Whistler, that’s the way I was thinking
And yes Face, that’s what I’m hoping. I’m thinking I only need to insure it then I’m off for a ride, but I will need to check it out first
I only got the bike this Monday, so need to go through a few things but all is looking good so far
