    Newb checking from aberdeenshire

    Morning folks,

I bought my first bike in ten years last week. I have got myself an 883 iron 2011. Just the Baby Harley I know but its got an awesome sound track.

The bike has the screaming eagles intake, Vance and Hines Short Shot exhaust and a stage one map.

Its also has a side mount reg plate and forward foot controls, which are more comfortable than I expected. I also believe the rear light is after market, chopped fender edge?

I almost went the triumph route but the Harley won through.

Does anyone know of a decent online manual for the sportster? I am thinking I need to replace all the zinc screws with nicer stainless ones but would like a reference before I start pulling bits off it.

I am sure i'll have some more questions to follow

    cheers RB

Hello RB2, from another 2011 Iron owner in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. I'm originally from Dufftown in Banffshire.

The genuine H-D manual is the best, I bought my 2011 Sportster manual as a digital copy online for £9.00, the paper manual is now £73.00. The Clymer manual is a useful one to have, they're about £40.00.

If you're looking for black stainless fasteners, I can help you there as I sell black stainless steel kits on eBay for "Dark Custom" Sportster's. Here is my own Iron with my black stainless fasteners installed.

If you're interested in black stainless fasteners, please send me a personal message. I do a discount for forum members.

Ah just in the nick of time, was going to ask the very same question myself.

Anyway welcome to the forum RB2, it’s an excellent resource of information for Harley owners, and it’s free.

Thanks for the welcome folks, Nice selection of irons here!

I'll have a look into the Harley Manual thanks, also @ BlueNose those Black bolts look great, I was thinking about silver ones but those black ones could be a shout.

I think I need to add my own touches to the bike to make it more mine. roll on the weekend so I can go make some noise!

detachable Sissy fitted to keep the wife happy... its a quick release though so its easy to remove and keep the lines clean when I am by myself... potentially it'll double as an ejector seat but it seems pretty solid.

    Hi RB,

Welcome from yet another fairly new member here and 883 Iron rider..... although it isnae a black one!

Your bike is looking good but hope you enjoy adding your own stamp to it. What are you planning to do to it next?

By the way, re manuals, I've just downloaded a PDF version from harley.manuals.cc for £7.
