    Hello,

    I'm a new rider, I've just purchased a Sportster 48

I've had a large capacity fuel tank fitted, as the range would of been too short.

Looking forward to the weather improving to take it out.

    Jeff

Welcome to the forum Old Timer from Calderdale in West Yorkshire.

The Forty-Eight is a popular Sportster, I was originally intending buying a Forty-Eight way back in 2011. I didn't like the forward foot controls, too laid back for my style of riding. I didn't like the Nightster's grey motor and wire wheels are a bitch to clean, so I bought my Iron. Even though the Iron is only an 883, it has plenty of power for me these days.

    Enjoy your Forty-Eight.

Morning Jeff & welcome - I've only recently found my way here too. I have looked at the 48 but I didn't like the fuel tank thing either. I asked Harvey at Riders and he quoted me £1300 for a new tank, if it was matt black and without badges. After I'd finished crying, I decided against it. Still, the 48s do look so cool - you're gonna be having such fun!

    Nice to see ya,

    Cheers,

    Chris

    Hey Jeff
I’m a new rider too with a 48. Original tank and I love it!
Have you changed the pipes yet?
