    Hello from Snowy Sussex

Usually it's 'sunny Sussex', but this week won't see many bikers in my neck of the woods. Looking forward to chatting, learning and sharing some of my awful jokes! Just waiting for my 08 XL1200N Nightster to arrive in 2 days time. My first HD (3rd ever bike.)

Welcome to the forum fae Fife. Nice bike the Nightster, a forerunner to mine, a 2016 883 Iron. Me, I'm an old hand at this biking lark, 36 yrs now, but only got my Iron 2yrs ago now. The forums pretty cosy, we're a small group with all sorts on here. Just get stuck in a start posting. Be good to see a pic of your bike when you can.

Hopefully not too long Rob! Just got it insured, 1/3 of the cost of my Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber!

How did you find the Guzzi. It got good reviews, but whenever seen one on the roads here.

Plus points: It was great to ride, lots of power, and got so much attention parked or on the move.

Minus points: It spent the first 2 months in the garage due to a lambda sensor*. It's a day bike, not useful for touring. Expensive parts, and to insure.

    * A mechanic told me that Euro 4 has killed air-cooled motorcycles. The technology and the Co2/fuel consumption requirements are not compatible. I can concur that it's a lot of trickery to get it right, and now understand why VW had to cheat to get the results the bureaucrats in the EU demanded.

BSH magazine did a road test of it, rating it highly. I'm not a fan of all this tech, my Iron is my first fuel injected bike. In standard tune its got plenty of road useful low down torque and it a smile a minute to ride.
