    Thanks Dave.

Have a look at some of my research following:

Apparently there are three Sportster stands.

    50238-08BHP - shortest one, about 7" For 883 L
50185-04A - standard length, about 8.5" For most other models
    49772-08BHP - longest one, about 10.5-11" For XR1200R and XL1200L

    However; From Jersey HD:
50124-09BHP is for the 2009 onwards; the connection could be the same and it is slightly longer. £114 plus postage.

49722-07BHP is for the 2007 883,883R and the 1200R, should fit and be slightly longer. £184 plus postage (over £220 if VAT is added - Chester HD want £236)

(WTF! Virtually the same two stands but one is twice as much as the other)

This all suggests that your stand is the 8 or 8-1/2" one - I'm not sure if it would make enough difference to the lean on mine (yes, I have replaced the bushes and the pin) I would be willing to give it a try, keeping if OK or sending back if not.

    Thanks again, AL

It didn't go, so I've resent it, hope you've got it now.

The problem of too much lean on the bike stand is solved thanks to bluenose-1956 (or Dave as we also know him). His new German stand at 8 - 8.5" has the bike sitting at between 10 - 15 degrees off the vertical (nearer 10 at a guess) instead of the 30 - 35 degrees with the OEM 7" stand.

Just got to make a new extension to get my boot on as the earlier one I made won't work on the new stand.

Thanks Dave - the cheque is in the post (or it will be on Monday)

    AL
