    Corrosion additive advice

    Hi there,

Just bought some jmc corrosion additive to add to my fuel tank for storage but not sure how much to put in! It's a german brand and i can't seem to find any values for it online. Has anyone used this before??

Hi, was just gonna fill it up with petrol and leave it till i find out more, it was just to protect the inside of the tank but if its full of petrol then that should be fine do you think?

    Is it this stuff?

If it is, the advert say's that 200 ml treats 20 litres of fuel, so that equates to 10ml for every litre of fuel.

Sorry, I haven't any experience of this product either.

I leave my tank full over winter so I can turn my bike over every 2-3 weeks. No problems with that routine over the last 15yrs now

Routine has worked for me fine. Found when I started taking my old Honda off the road it saved on undue stress on battery as well. In 21yrs only bought 2 batteries for that bike. Hoping for more of the same on my Iron.

Thatís where I differ from you, as I always put my bike battery on the optimiser when not in use which if I remember correctly you canít as your bike is in an outhouse with no mains feed unless you run an extension cable up

Light aircraft practice is to keep the tanks full when not in use to avoid condensation as much as possible. However we do now have ethanol to worry about. You can't win.
