wideglide rear fender conversion for fatbob

Hello all. I am trying to locate the parts for doing this conversion on my 2010 fatbob. Does anybody know if there are pattern parts I can buy in the uk? I have located a used fender in the states...and it would cost £225 shipped. Then need straightening and painting. It seems really hard to find these parts. Thanks

    Hi Zombie,

Hogparts UK in Cannock have replica Wide Glide rear fenders in bare steel, the fender is 7.25" wide.

Hogparts part number is 599938, price is £78.50 plus postage.

    See the image.

    Hope that's helped you.

    Dave.

Imported parts from the USA are subject to import duty, VAT and Royal Mail handling charge, that would add up to just over £100 on top of your £225.

Thanks Dave for your help. But that fender has the duck bill on the end which is similar to the fatbobs now. I am looking for a more straight across chopped one. Now wether I could cut that down is a distinct option. It is a good price. And thanks for the help to that store. There is a lot of good parts. Cheers Phil.

T.H.S. (The Harley Shop) - Castleford.
    Custom Cruisers UK. - Alfreton.
    Grizzly's Custom Bikes. - Folkstone.
    Jones Custom Parts. - Camberley.
    Cycle Haven. - Lincoln.
    Second City Customs. - Bromsgrove.
    House of Custom. - Glasgow.

    Hi Phil,

The USA market Wide Glide rear fender is H-D part number :- 60519-10.

The UK market Wide Glide rear fender is H-D part number :- 60508-10.

So the USA imported fender might not have fitted your UK bike anyway.

The fender struts are also different on the Wide Glide from the Fat Bob.

Wide Glide struts are :- 59459-10 (left) and 59461-10 (right).
Fat Bob struts are :- 59281-08 (left) and 59410-08 (right).

The swap might not be as straight forward as it seems.

Thanks for your research Dave. You know what I think I will do, is buy one of those unpainted aftermarket ones for the fat bob, and cut the duck tail off the end and see how it looks. At least I know it will fit without having to buy struts etc. And wont be spoiling the original one.

    regards Phil.

    Hello Phil,

I think that's the best way to go.

Hogparts have a Fat Bob replica rear fender with the "Duck Bill" rear end. It's in bare steel, but it doesn't have any holes drilled in it. The Hogparts part # is 505680, it's price is £75.13 plus shipping. see the image.

    505680k_1024x1024.jpg

Hope this will do you if you don't mind cutting off the "Duck Bill" and drilling your own holes. The price seems good though.

    Regards,

    Dave.
