This photo was taken at Mount Tabor village in Calderdale in February 2014, it's about a mile up the road from my home.

Mount Tabor village is 1220 feet above sea level.

Your actual riding season must be quite narrow up there I guess . It’s bad enough here in Norfolk I hate having to put the bike away for 4 or 5 months .

In the early eighties I used to ride all year round, we get bad winters up here in the Pennines. I'm too old to ride in the winter these days, below is a photo of Calderdale village Wainstalls in the snow, it was taken in February 1976, the year of the long hot summer.

Wainstalls stands 1021 feet above sea level and 4 miles northwest of Halifax town centre.

In Scotland the weather is so changeable. Generally you can ride from March to October, but get very varying weather from one day to the next

I've been injured(MCL tear), and have been ducking the weather. It's looking pretty bad outside here to:

I think when you get to a certain age, injuries are impacted on more by the weather. I hate the cold damp weather for that reason, my aches and pains have aches and pains
