    More Irish ramblings

Took some vid of some local spots near me. The bad news is I am rambling in the vid. The good news is you can't hardly make out wtf I am saying.

Here's a new vid. The bit rate on the Sena is basically crap, and the noise on the on cam mic is even worse. I will switch to the other mic for the next ride. For now I had to put up music instead of lovely exhaust sounds.... I am hoping the new 'wifi' HD 2K version is better and I can use the same mounts. But I am certainly open to any advice on cams. The country is so gorgeous here, it would be criminal not to film it.

Audio is getting better, but I am saving up for a new cam with a higher bitrate. Here I am moseying thru the WIcklow Mountains near my home:

I also made a video of her idling after I upgraded the cams, compression, and the fuel map to one dyno tuned by Fuel Moto. The map allows for a bit of lope at idle. AH yeahhh

My family came from around Wicklow. My dad was the first of the family to be born in Scotland.

So an honest to goodness Scots-Irish then uh?
Loads of folks here with British heritage, too.
I'm the first of my family to move from the states to Ireland.
There's just no place like it.

That explains things to me, I didn't think reindeer sounded very Irish.

Not surprising there's British heritage in Eire, after all it used to be part of the British Empire.

I believe there are great biking roads over there.

I certainly am, pure celt. Ireland's beautiful, been across a fair few times. But,I do like Florida though, I'd love there in a heartbeat, but missus won't move.

I'm not too fond of the mosquitoes in Florida They are bad enough in Austin, Texas - my old stomping grounds. Now, Austin and Texas was a great place to ride - that I miss - 35* summers aside...
    Here's a bunch of random images I've taken: http://www.pbase.com/wyk/favorite_images_of_texas http://www.pbase.com/wyk/random_texas_2002

I had a very highly strung FXR for 3 months once back in Texas. S&S 100 if I recall. Great brakes, great suspension. But after a summer full of 35* weather and long Austin City stop lights, I decided I would rather not bake and ride. And it took me nearly 10 years before I got another bike because I also started traveling Ireland and southern UK at the time.

I'll try and get a decent action cam and mic for my future rides. I sound like a chipmunk in my previous vids. My last one I just put music up in it.

    Hey Reindeer,

I take it you've never come across the West Highland midge, these tiny brutes are savages and they're the scourge of the Scottish Highlands.
