    Low Rider S Insurance

    Guys

Has anyone had any issues with Insurance? When I got my first quote they got the cc wrong. I then had real problems getting the right model, I.e. FDXLS. It keeps coming up with FXSB but with the 1803cc. They couldn't get FDXLS in their databases.

FXSB is a Breakout not a Dyna. Find a broker that knows it's arse from it's elbow would be my advice. If they can't get off the starting blocks with your policy what chance would you have with a claim?

I went through HD's own insurance. Really competitive quote 2 years running. Great benefits as well. Hassle free.

First Insurance company was Hastings Direct, 2nd was the RAC and both couldn't find FDXLS on the database, do they not access DVLA database by using the registration plate?

Try Bennets, Carol Nash, HD insurance services or Bikesure. These companies should have more of a clue

Having being stung in the past by a shit insurance company , I did my research for the harley. It's better to use an insurance with experience of insuring Harleys, specials, customs etc.

Whoever you go with make sure the policy is not underwritten by a company called Markerstudy. If you do not recognise the name of the underwriter provided do a little research before committing. The cheapest insurance quite often may not be what it seems. It is their service reputation in a claim situation that is important, NOT the cost of the policy itself.

    Hi Paul

I have a FXDLS and had the same problem as you when I first tried to insure it last Oct, and that was with CN and HD insurance!. HD did not recognise the model at all and CN quoted as a one off quote and not from their standard list. As I was just changing bikes on a current policy I went with CN. When I renewed a couple of months ago I moved to HD and they managed to find the FXDLS ok this time.
