    New Harley rider

Hi, I'm toying with the idea of moving my 1250 Bandit on and getting me a Harley, I'm looking at a HARLEY-DAVIDSON FXDI DYNA SUPER GLIDE. 2003 with 5k on it, lots of chrome and very nice condition, what the opinion on this bike for my first Harley? It's the 1450cc I think.

Mate of mine who is 52 years young took his bike test 2 years ago. His first bike a 103 Stage II tuned Breakout. Go for it, if you can't adapt knock it on and buy another Bandit. If the asking price is ok you won't lose on the Harley either way?

I agree with Dod and K9, go for it. Harleys take a little getting used (the mechanical noise, the handling, the idiosyncrasies) to after riding jap bikes etc, but its well worth sticking with.

It's a Harley! You're hardly going to be getting a knee down and drifting the back end. With the exception of the weight when moving slowly you have nothing to worry about apart from cleaning all that bloody chrome

Did make me chuckle.....It doesn't stop people tinkering in the vain hope it might happen? As for the chrome black can be nearly as bad if it's gloss!

Not today! Daughter is off to Grandparents for a week so doing handover at Wisley today! Was at S Bomb the newish cafe/workshop in Poole. Interesting place and owner! He was at Hamworthy in the mob apparently? Will be doing the rounds beginning next Thursday weather permitting beginning with Southampton Bike Night.

**Late Edit** Glad I didn't venture out on the bike, despite the sun shining and 22 degrees in the car setting off at 09:30, it had dropped down to 14 degrees with torrential rain of biblical proportions. At one stage only doing 22 mph on the A31 due to standing water and visibility.

Thanks guys, the bike is at a local dealers (I've had 3 bikes from them before} they want £6995 for it which given the low miles new MoT warranty-and good condition doesn't seem bad to me, what do you think?

Honestly fella, if your happy with the price and a test ride on it floats your boat buy it...the bike will have been serviced by Harley so there should be no issues plus your getting a warranty etc...

It's all down to what your head and heart tells you..

Good luck in whatever you decide...but remember it's a Harley not a bandit...
