The Breakout for me after 40 years of riding motorcycles has been the hardest to get to grips with on windy roads. I have had mine for 6 months and a mate of mine who has had his Breakout for the last two years (the same length of time he has had his licence) says in comparison to himself "I ride mine like a pro" I only wish I felt like it. It does not instil confidence in the rider like some machines do and having to actually turn the bars as far as one does on tight corners is unnerving to say the least. Combine this with the prospect of opening the throttle too soon and you'd soon know about it!
I WILL get to grips with it....It is work in progress, it is not a beginners machine and 100thmonkey historically summed it up to me nicely "It is a shit pig to ride!" I agree even with the upside down forks shorter rake and twin discs over standard, nevertheless Harley-Davidson would have to pull the proverbial rabbit out of a hat for looks for me to want to chop mine in for another......at the moment.

I thought my 48 was a keeper but outgrew that after a mere 12 months.......

Give it another year and all the financed ones from new 3 years ago will flood out the market and prices will drop a lot. They have been a very good seller for HD and I am glad I owned one and you should give it a try but there are far better longevity machines out there depending on your riding. For example if you potter around cafes on a Sunday and the odd night of the week its perfect, for many its the only time they will ever scrape a peg but it becomes tedious after a while when you want to get twisty
Thanks for all the replies folks,
I appreciate what you are saying but I think that statement is true of any car/bike out there now due to PCP etc, the bike will be purchased outright so no real issue.
