Old style Walkers Tomato flavoured Snaps...but I remember them being much cheaper than 8p...could it have been as low as 3p or am I away with the rose tinted fairy's?

Not so keen on the spangles as they always lacerated my tongue (as the hole wore through in the middle...or were you all crunchers rather than suckers?)

Crisps were originally as we changed to decimalisation 6d so they stared at 2 1/2 new pence. I agree about Spangle tongue laceration even more profound when it was the fizzy ones.

Bit like the old sherbet lemons whereupon the tongue would be cut to shreds and the roof of the mouth worn away to tatters at the same time.

It certainly was nippy with the fizzy ones. Do you remember getting sherbet by the quarter and it bring put into paper bags.

I do indeed. I also remember the top of the bag getting soaking wet as you tipped the sherbet into your mouth. How many sherbet pips did you put in each time?

Coconut sweet tobacco was another favourite of mine.

Sherbet fountains and Sherbet dibdabs used to get soaked as well...that first suck through the licquorice stick was the only one that ever worked.

What about Jungle Juice? Frozen lumps of sweet (red mostly) juice in the waxed cardboard forerunner of a tetrapak.
