    Ok Blackadder,

I think Dod mean's an HP type sauce.

HP was bought by Heinz who promptly closed the Birmingham factory and started HP Sauce production in the Netherlands, I don't buy HP Sauce anymore.

We have our own sauces here in Yorkshire, I prefer to buy locally produced sauces now.

Hammond's Chop Sauce, Henderson's Relish & YR Sauce.

I meant brown sauce like bluenose said..we get it up here in Scotland in our chip shops..

Bluenose said he preferred curry sauce with his chips but to me that is more of a Chinese takeaway thing but there chips are usually frozen ones...chip shops do sell curry sauce here also..

Seeing as we all like Harley's there is a chip shop I know of that sold hoggie wraps which is a big tortilla wrap filled with chips, cheese, kebab meat and chilli sauce..mmmm'mmmm

That is a great ad for Yorkshire. Some of my best friends are Yorkists.

    Ok Dod,

Aye I ken aboot the Chippy's in Scotland, I was born there, in Dufftown, Banffshire, the Whisky Capital of the World. I lived in Scotland until I was 9.5 years old, I then moved to Halifax, there was a labour shortage in this old mill town in the 1960's. My father had his pick of the available jobs on his arrival in 1966, sadly the jobs have all gone now.

The Yorkies have adopted me as a naturalised Yorkshireman, I am still Scottish by the grace of God though. I don't like Kebab meat, if you can call it meat, there's too much fat and ground up bone in it for me, I can't stand lamb either.

The Chippies here in Yorkshire do a curry sauce which is similar to the Chinese variety, here is Harry Ramsden's Chip Shop Style Curry Sauce. It's great on chips.
