I'd recommend we first agree what data is to be represented.

I can try making some data up and creating a sample interactive map if anyone thinks it might add value to this discussion?

    Hi All,

Can someone please test this sample map?

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FC...t5TdsCJI47vqqY

Paste the link into your browser and if viewing on mobile click the title at the bottom to view owners, dealers and chapters, or mix and match.

Just found out it doesn't work in the google maps app, but it will work in a browser. Copy and paste the link.

The Chapter data was obtained from http://www.hogchapters.info/ (I think it's out of date for the UK), dealer data from the HD website and owner data is made up.

Let me know how you get on.

    Cheers

Not bad but I would suggest binning the post code as the town is good enough and adding the member's forum name. That way you could contact them through the forum for potential ride outs or events or even to go look at a bike on your behalf if it's a long way away?

    Good work Sassman!

Thanks for the suggestion K9F - that's an easy change to do if I can get hold of the data. In total, this map took about 30 minutes to create.

That was just a personal view. With a little tweaking and fettling dependent on feedback you've done an outstanding job. Thank you.

Can we have a North/ South dividing line between Watford and Gloucester please? (Joke by the way)

    Good job Sassman

Think binning the postcode from view is an ok idea but still use the first bit LN4 for instance for location as its still a fairly big area. I agree with K9 about usernames would be handy to link back to the forum and offering ride outs etc.

Good work though, think it's a great idea.
