Fired the bike up today and let it run for about 20 minutes...don’t know when the last was that I fired it up but it went first time...gave it a quick clean and had a quick squint at the mileage..nearly 5600 miles...pretty poor effort this year for me on the bike...first year was 5000 and I got till next August before my second year runs out.

Think battery technology has improved. Mine lay for 4wks prior to hols and after, it started fine too. I usually turn bike over every fortnight and alternative weeks I put it on optimate for 4-5 hrs each time. Works well.

Have now removed mudguards for cutting and painting, and offered up new Trackmaster tank which is a great fit, just needs a little wiring relocation.
Still need to save up for bars, risers, yokes, tail light /license bracket, lowered side stand, front and rear suspension and new seat, so it'll be well into New Year before the next stage (and HMRC need paying end of Jan :-( )
I'm loving the stripped down look!

Your Roadster's looking good Alec, I like the tank, air filter and exhaust, they contrast well against the black of the engine and frame.

Hi Wide, that's the Firebrand Fiftytwo 52 exhaust, came from America via eBay, total cost including shipping and duty came to £579, so I thought it was great value (comes in black or chrome). Easy install, but very loud (and you lose the pillion pegs), so I added a decibel reducer for an extra £28 delivered which makes a big improvement.
    Cheers, Alec

Thanks bluenose, yes I'm pleased so far. Not trying anything too radical, just aiming for a classic lowrider look, on a sensible budget!

Bit cold today, so after a short spin this morning decided to stay at home and flipped my mirrors & relocated front turn signals.
